We do an initial "get to know you" meeting with parents/care-givers and one with the teen. We then create a Plan of Action that is SIMPLE and agreed upon.
Next we provide a SAFE space for teens to open up. Most do not have someone in their lives that they "let in" on the real emotions and issues they are facing.
Although we build trust through relationship we do require a level of accountability and STRUCTURE. Our program is goal oriented development that implements measurable growth steps.
At the conclusion of the 60 day process we celebrate the SUCCESS we found with a completion dinner.
After over 20 years experience successfully building youth groups and community programs, Multiply Mentors founder Mike Wallis recognized a shift in the youth culture of today. With the rise of youth mental health issues and social isolation due to advances in technology he saw a need for teens to be supported from a more relational approach. An approach that would build trust that ultimately opens the door to focus on the deeper issues. Issues that are often intertwined with trauma and life's challenges. One that builds a bridge of support and healing for the whole family. Our program emphasizes Youth Identity and Individual Purpose as a necessity to reach our full potential.
Our ability to equally connect with parents and teens is a gift. One that only experience brings. Aside from our history working in the youth development field we have raised teenagers of our own. Its not easy being a parent but you don't have to do it alone.
